Customer Review: Overview:
Kinsmen is a collaborative effort between Rudresh Mahanthappa and fellow Indian saxophonist Kadri Golpalnath. While Rudresh's style is that of a modern jazz sax player, Kadri's style is based in traditional Indian music. It is fascinating to hear them both solo and compare and... more info
Customer Review: Quincy Jones already rocks my world. I have nothing but respect for him and the level of musical excellence that has always surrounded anything he put his considerable mind and talent to. But this re-imagining of Handel's Messiah from an African-American perspective is exceptional, extraordinary,... more info
Customer Review: Let me just say that I'm not too impressed with the series "Ken Burns' Jazz." It was a pretty hack job and really didn't cover all the bases in my opinion. Customer Review: Another winner for those who like Hardcastle & the Jazzmasters. In typical fashion, there are some standouts and no bad cuts. Overall a very consistent effort of good, upbeat smooth jazz fusion. Great CD for driving or just chilling out.

Customer Review: Outstanding work, even though it was pieced together with contributions from musicians around the world. I loved the marriage of eastern sounds with western jazz.... JRM
Customer Review: I have all of the Solstice releases. This will be the last I buy. It sounds more like the "Easy Listening Jazz" FM stations that are franchised around the country than Christmas. I used to put the CD's on at night with the tree lights on, house lights off and the snow falling outside. The... more info
